What if I was there,
if I would come closer to you
if would ask any innocent question
looking straight to your eyes
with a crooked smile?
What if it was me
the one you are having this conversation with?
What if, for a second,
my fingertips could touch the back of your hand,
and write on them: "It is me!"
What if
you could then recognize me
even when you never saw me.
What if your soul could perceive me,
detect me, smell me, possess me?
What if you saw in my eyes a connection,
a drive, a magic that could tell you without words
everything is yet to be said?
What if, in an impossible dare,
I would embrace you, and my lips,
barely touching your ears,
could breath on you and tell you:
"here I am!".
Would you then understand?
Would you smile back to me?
Would you take my hand,
and kiss my fingers?
Would you tell me, "Finally! I have been waiting my whole life for this"
Would you take me with you,
to your apartment,
to our secret cave,
to the hidden place in which I inhabited as a ghost?
Would you undress me,
liberate my skin of this prison
and let me be yours?
Would you kiss me,
eat me, possess me?
Would you enter in me,
leave your mark in my skin,
in my flesh, in my soul?
Would you...?
Or may I be the eternal spirit
that barely touches you
in your dreams, like the wind?
