I have a full set of sounds which I used before my PA got in the way. I lied on my back, holding my penis up. I got up to 8mm thick. The thicker ones sank in under their own weight. I just needed to cough to let it past/into my prostate. Yes I enjoyed the feeling. Now (at 7mm thick) my PA gives me much the same feeling.
I've never needed to have a medical scope or catheter up there.
That happened to me the last time I was admitted to hospital. A young, attractive blond female nurse showed me the catheter, quite a long rubber tube, and said I am going to insert this in you. Then she took hold of my penis and slid it gently in. I was told to cough twice - once to get it past my prostate and the second to get it to enter my bladder. She was so lovely she could have done anything to me!
Incidentally it stayed there for about 2 weeks. The (older) nurse who pulled it out was quite brutal - maybe because I'd just upset a glass of water over the bed, making her change it.

I love the photo of you nude in the hospital! Do you stay that way the whole time in your room? I usually just wear the single gown, open in the back and nothing else. That makes it easy to be mostly naked most the time and something is always showing when the nurse comes in!
I would love to just skip the gown entirely, but so far I haven't tried that.
